Incident Management

Incident Management is the planned and coordinated process by which multiply agencies respond, manage and clear an incident scene.  The goal of incident management is to improve safety for responders and all motorists and to reduce traveler delay.  The Kentucky Transportation Center has been involved in numerous incident management –related studies including the development two curriculums for responders, Highway Crash Site Management and Emergency Traffic Control for Responders.  KTC has also be intimately involved in planning for Highway Incident Management in Kentucky and has assisted in the identification of secondary crashes and methods to limit the time take on the scene of an incident.
