Pavement Preservation

The Pavement Preservation research area at the Kentucky Transportation Center primarily focuses on the evaluation of various pavement maintenance techniques for both concrete and asphalt pavement.  Our evaluations include reviewing new technologies and techniques for pavement preservation and repair and analyzing pavement management data to determine typical rehabilitation and maintenance cycles.  Recent research includes the evaluation of innovative concrete patching materials, evaluation of chip seal, and thin surface treatments.
